Queering the Responsibility to Protect

Abstract Research on the Responsibility to Protect has become increasingly intersectional with over two decades of research; however, there remains a blind spot persecution queer people. This is surprising given that people have been persecuted in atrocity crimes as far back Holocaust. While field genocide studies recently begun engage this area, we frame more broadly around four R2P crimes. In article set out rationale and urgency for including lens prevention not only about focus people; argue politics ethics ceaselessly interrogates all relations power. We outline scale gap academic research, policy state understandings R2P. Since often framed foreign matter by western states, global South object R2P, include case-studies escalating against LGBTI+ Europe: United Kingdom Hungary. research communities should remove what call ‘cishetronormative blindfold’ approaches prevention.
